Description

Tectyl 910E2 is a QPL-approved preservative engine oil manufactured by Daubert Chemical Company and formulated under MIL-PRF-21260E, SAE Grade 10W. This versatile product serves three critical functions: preservation, break-in, and lubrication of both spark-ignition and compression-ignition internal combustion engines. It forms an oily, translucent protective film that safeguards engine parts during covered shipment and indoor storage while also functioning as a complete operational oil. Officially approved under Military Specification MIL-PRF-21260E with QPL Reference Number MP-434, Tectyl 910E2 ensures engines remain protected and ready for use in military, industrial, and commercial applications without harming copper-lead alloy bearings or other sensitive materials.

Application Guidelines

  • Metal surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of rust, oil, and mill scale
  • Apply at temperatures between 50-95°F (10-35°C)
  • Use as supplied – DO NOT THIN the product
  • Ensure uniform consistency prior to use
  • Continued stirring is generally not required
  • If product thickens due to cold storage or solvent loss, contact Daubert Chemical Company
  • This is a completely operational oil that need not be changed until the first scheduled oil change specified by engine manufacturer

Removal and Handling

  • Can be removed with TECTYL HPS solventborne thinner, vapor degreasing, hot alkaline wash, or low pressure steam
  • Can be removed from fabrics by normal dry cleaning procedures
  • Avoid chlorinated or highly aromatic solvents when removing from painted surfaces
  • Refer to Daubert’s Material Safety Data Sheet for health and safety instructions
  • The addition of any product over or under this coating is not recommended
