Description

TECTYL 810 is a premium water-emulsifiable, oil-based rust preventive concentrate manufactured by Daubert Chemical Company, Inc., specifically designed for use in a variety of industrial metalworking fluid formulations. When diluted with water at 5-25% concentrations, it forms a stable, milky white emulsion that provides excellent lubricity and effective corrosion protection for ferrous and non-ferrous materials during transit, processing, and indoor storage. This versatile product creates an oily protective film that offers superior protection for metal surfaces in cutting, forming, stamping, and multi-stage cleaning systems, making it an ideal solution for industries seeking reliable rust prevention combined with lubricating properties.

Application Guidelines

  1. Dilution Preparation: Primarily applied in water emulsions in 5-25% concentrations
  2. Concentration Evaluation: Proper concentration should be evaluated before implementing use
  3. Temperature Range: Can be used in recirculating systems at 40-120°F (4-49°C)
  4. Mixing Procedure: When mixing, ALWAYS ADD THE OIL TO THE WATER (not reverse)
  5. Temperature Control: Both oil and water temperatures should be at 70-90°F (21-32°C) during mixing
  6. Dip Tank Usage: Can be used in dip tanks with gentle circulation or agitation prior to use
  7. Evaluation Process: Test the product in the specific application before full implementation
  8. Surface Preparation: Ensure metal surfaces are clean and free from contaminants prior to application

Equipment Recommendations:

  • Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater for optimal efficiency
  • Spray equipment with tungsten carbide nozzles (0.007″ to 0.009″ orifice size)
  • High-pressure fluid hoses (minimum 3/8-inch diameter for distances up to 50 feet, 1/2-inch for longer distances)
  • Industrial mixing equipment for proper emulsion preparation
  • Recirculating system components rated for water-based fluids
  • Filtration systems to maintain emulsion quality
  • Temperature control systems for maintaining optimal operating conditions

Storage and Handling

  • Removal Method: Can be removed with alkaline cleaners
  • Safety Information: Refer to Daubert’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for complete handling and safety information
  • Storage Conditions: Store concentrate in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight
  • Shelf Life: Consult manufacturer’s guidelines for specific shelf life information
  • Emulsion Stability: Monitor diluted product regularly in recirculating systems
  • Concentration Management: Use appropriate methods to maintain correct concentration during use
  • System Cleaning: Follow proper procedures for cleaning systems before introducing the product
