Product Information
Description
TECTYL 714 is a premium, solvent-free thin film rust preventive oil manufactured by Daubert Chemical Company, Inc. This high-performance corrosion inhibitor is specially formulated to protect ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates, including steel tubing, sheets, coils, bars, and wire during in-plant processing, transit, and indoor storage. With its high flash point for enhanced safety and stability, TECTYL 714 provides a convenient and cost-effective short-term protection solution for metal surfaces on moving parts, spare parts, and other metal equipment. The product appears amber in its liquid form and creates an oily, transparent protective film that penetrates cracks and crevices, preventing corrosion deep within metal structures while maintaining a pleasant appearance.

Application Guidelines
- Surface Preparation: Ensure metal surfaces are clean, dry, and free of rust, oil, and mill scale
- Product Preparation: Use as supplied; ensure uniform consistency prior to use
- Stirring Requirements: Continued stirring generally not required
- Application Methods: Commonly applied by spray, brush, dip, or roller
- Temperature Range: Apply when ambient and product temperature is 50-95°F
- Thinning: DO NOT THIN; incorrect thinning will affect film build and product performance
- Cold Storage Issues: If product thickens due to cold storage, contact Daubert Chemical Company
- Environment Restrictions: Designed for use in controlled environments, not for outdoor protection
Equipment Recommendations:
- Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater for efficient application
- Spray equipment with tungsten carbide nozzles (0.007″ to 0.009″ orifice size)
