Description
Tectyl 5164 is an asphalt-based, long-term rust preventive coating manufactured by Daubert Chemical Company. This heavy-duty, professional-grade product is specifically formulated to provide excellent corrosion protection for transportation equipment and industrial applications. With its thixotropic properties, Tectyl 5164 delivers a firm, pliable, semi-gloss black film that adheres well to metal surfaces while offering outstanding resistance to moisture, salt spray, and other corrosive elements. As a derivation of military-grade technology, this coating has been reapplied for common automotive industry applications and meets Federal Specification TT-C-520B, making it suitable for environments where long-lasting protection is essential.

Application Guidelines
- Apply at temperatures above 50°F to allow for proper film formation
- Use airless spray equipment (15:1 airless pump or greater)
- Equipment should deliver 800-1200 psi to a 0.017 to 0.025 reverse-a-clean tip
- Apply to clean, prepared surfaces
- Supplied in totes and open head drums
- Store in a cool, dry location
- Keep away from ignition sources due to flash point
- Consult SDS for proper handling procedures
This product meets Federal Specification TT-C-520B and provides an excellent balance of long-term corrosion protection with the handling convenience of a firm, paint-like film.
