As a concentrated version of the classic TECTYL 506 product line, this versatile coating deposits a firm, wax-like, pliable film that provides exceptional protection for metal parts exposed to harsh environmental elements, including coastal and high-humidity conditions. Application Guidelines

  • Product is formulated to be used as supplied
  • Ensure uniform consistency prior to use (continued stirring generally not required)
  • Can be applied by brush, spray, or dip methods
  • Film thickness specifications are based on dip application
  • If product thickens due to cold storage or loss of solvent, Daubert Chemical recommends using aliphatic solvents such as mineral spirits
  • For spray application:
    • Use pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater
    • Recommended tungsten carbide nozzles (.015″ to .019″ tip orifice)
    • Use high-pressure fluid hoses (minimum 3/8-inch diameter)

Storage and Handling

  • Store in original containers at recommended temperatures
  • If thickening occurs due to cold storage, aliphatic solvents such as mineral spirits can be used
  • Removal of wet and dry film using mineral spirits or citrus-based cleaners
  • Provides up to 4 years of indoor storage protection
  • Delivers up to 2 years of outdoor exposure protection under proper conditions
