TECTYL 506EH is a concentrated, extra-heavy corrosion preventive coating manufactured by Daubert Chemical Company, designed to provide superior long-term protection for metal surfaces exposed to harsh environmental conditions. As an enhanced version of the classic TECTYL 506 product line, this versatile coating deposits a firm, wax-like, pliable film that delivers exceptional durability and resistance to moisture, corrosion, and UV damage. With its higher solids content and increased film thickness, TECTYL 506EH offers extended protection periods for industrial equipment, transportation components, and machinery during storage or shipping.

Application Guidelines

  • Product is formulated to be used as supplied
  • Ensure uniform consistency prior to use (continued stirring generally not required)
  • Can be applied by brush, spray, or dip methods
  • Film thickness specifications are based on dip application
  • For optimal spray application:
    • Use pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater
    • Recommended tungsten carbide nozzles (.015″ to .019″ tip orifice)
    • Use high-pressure fluid hoses (minimum 3/8-inch diameter)
  • If product thickens due to cold storage or loss of solvent, Daubert Chemical recommends using aliphatic solvents such as mineral spirits

Storage and Handling

  • Store in original containers at recommended temperatures
  • Removal of wet and dry film using mineral spirits or citrus-based cleaners
  • Alternative removal methods include petroleum solvent, hot alkaline wash, or low-pressure steam
  • Provides up to 4 years of indoor storage protection
  • Delivers up to 2 years of outdoor exposure protection under proper conditions
  • Higher film thickness applications can extend protection periods for specialized requirements
