Tectyl 3344 Black is an environmentally friendly, water-based corrosion preventive undercoating formulated with zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and free from Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS). Designed for both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates, it offers superior protection and durability while adhering to stringent environmental and safety standards. This high-performance undercoating is ideal for applications in harsh environments, including military and transportation sectors, providing long-lasting rust and corrosion prevention.

- Complete Undercoating: Suitable for undercoating of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals in transportation equipment, automobiles, rail cars, intermodal trailer chassis, and construction equipment.
- Military & OEM Applications: Applied to US Military OEM transportation equipment to protect against saltwater and harsh operational environments.
- Protection for Harsh Environments: Ideal for environments requiring robust protection against moisture, salt, and other corrosive factors.
Product Performance:
- Wet Film Thickness: Recommended at 14-20 mils.
- Dry Film Thickness (DFT): Recommended 6-10 mils.
- Coverage: 48-73 square feet per gallon when applied at the recommended wet film thickness.
- Drying Time: Dries to handle in 1 hour and fully cures within 72 hours.
- Durability: Provides up to 3+ years of outdoor protection and 5+ years of indoor protection on metal substrates at the recommended dry film thickness.
Application Equipment Recommendations:
- Spray Equipment: Pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater for efficient application.
- Nozzle Tip: Tungsten carbide nozzles with a .019″ to .023″ tip orifice size are recommended.
- Hose Size: High-pressure fluid hoses should be at least 3/8 in. in diameter.
- Spray Distance: Low-ratio pumps (15-30:1) can operate through up to 150 ft. of hose, while high-ratio pumps (>30:1) can operate through up to 250 ft. of hose.
