Tectyl 300G HF Black is a premium, water-based corrosion preventive coating formulated for direct application to both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It provides a hard, flexible, and chip-resistant black film that effectively shields industrial components from corrosive environments.
Key Features:
- Composition: Water-based, high-solids formula.
- Appearance: Dark blue when applied; cures to a black, hard, and flexible film.
- Flexibility: Maintains protection under mechanical stress.
- Overcoatable: Suitable as a standalone coating or as a base-layer primer for additional topcoats.
- VOC Content: Low volatile organic compounds (VOC) of 2.9 lbs. per gallon, reducing air pollutants.
- Flash Point: High flash point of 201°F, enhancing safety during application.
- Coverage: Approximately 224 square feet per gallon at the recommended dry film thickness (DFT).
- Drying Time: Touch dry in 15–30 minutes at 20°C; fully cured within 24 hours.
Performance:
- Weathering Resistance: Passes 500 hours in ASTM G-23 accelerated weathering tests.
- Corrosion Resistance: Demonstrates over 13 days in salt spray tests and over 21 days in humidity tests at recommended DFT.
- Protection Duration: Provides up to 12 months of outdoor protection and up to 24 months indoors.
Application Guidelines:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure metal surfaces are clean, dry, and free from rust, oil, and mill scale.
- Application Method: Can be applied via airless spray, brush, dip, or roller.
- Storage: Store between 10–35°C; protect from freezing.
