Description
TECTYL® 282 is a premium rust preventive concentrate manufactured by Daubert Chemical Company that deposits an oily film when applied to metal surfaces. This amber-colored, solvent-based concentrate is specifically formulated to protect both ferrous and non-ferrous materials from corrosion during transit and indoor storage. Designed to be diluted with aliphatic solvents (mineral spirits), TECTYL® 282 offers customizable protection levels based on specific application requirements. With its water-displacing properties and exceptional humidity resistance, this product provides reliable corrosion protection for a variety of metal parts and components across multiple industries.

Application Guidelines
TECTYL® 282 is designed to be diluted to 25% solids with mineral spirits for optimal performance:
- Dilution Ratio: Typically diluted to 25% solids with mineral spirits
- Application Methods: Commonly applied by dip; can also be sprayed or brushed
- Temperature Conditions: Recommended product temperature of 50-95°F (10-35°C) at time of application
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean and free from existing rust or heavy contamination
- Application Consistency: Ensure uniform consistency prior to use
- Film Formation: Apply evenly to achieve the recommended dry film thickness of 0.10 mils
- Drying Time: Allow 2-3 hours for complete curing under standard conditions
