Ideal Applications

Transportation and Automotive:

  • Components requiring corrosion protection with environmental compliance
  • Automotive parts manufacturing and assembly applications
  • Vehicle undercarriage and frame components

Industrial Equipment:

  • Machinery and equipment components requiring non-toxic protective coatings
  • Metal parts exposed to moderately corrosive environments
  • Protective coating for industrial metal structures

Manufacturing:

  • Production line components where easy handling is important
  • Metal components requiring residue-free protective coating
  • Applications where a primer coat is needed before additional finishing

Application Guidelines

TECTYL® 2472 VC is formulated to be used as supplied. This water-based coating requires specific handling and application considerations.

Surface Preparation:

  • For maximum performance, metal surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of rust, oil, and mill scale
  • Recommended substrate temperature during application: 50-95°F (10-35°C)

Application Methods:

  • Can be dipped or sprayed using conventional or HLVP spray gun
  • For optimal results, ensure ambient and product temperature is between 50-95°F to allow for proper film formation

Important Notes:

  • Water-based formula should not be exposed to freezing conditions
  • Daubert recommends storage above 40°F and below 100°F
  • Wet film can be removed with soap and water (up to 30 minutes after application)
  • Dry film is not intended for removal
  • The resulting dry film leaves no residue when touched, making coated goods easy to handle

Storage and Handling

  • Store at temperatures between 40-100°F
  • Protect from freezing temperatures
  • The dry film is not normally intended for removal
  • Refer to Daubert’s Safety Data Sheet for complete health and safety instructions
