Tectyl 2423 HF is a high-performance, environmentally friendly water-based emulsion corrosion preventive coating. It is designed for undercoating both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates and provides excellent protection against corrosion in harsh environments. Tectyl 2423 HF meets the requirements of the Commercial Item Description A-A-59295 and is approved under the U.S. Marine Corps Corrosion Prevention and Control (USMC CPAC). This premium undercoating is ideal for protecting vehicles and equipment, particularly in challenging environments like saltwater exposure and military applications.

• Military Applications: Used on U.S. Marine Corps amphibious vehicles and armored personnel carriers for protection in saltwater and other corrosive environments.
• Direct Application Over CARC Systems: Can be applied over a full Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) or CARC primer system.

Performance:

• Wet Film Thickness: Recommended at 13-15 mils.
• Dry Film Thickness (DFT): Recommended 5-6 mils.
• Coverage: 117 square feet per gallon at the recommended wet film thickness.
• Drying Time: Dries to handle in 30-45 minutes, fully cured in 24 hours.
• Durability: Provides up to 3+ years of outdoor protection and 5+ years of indoor protection on metal substrates.

Application Equipment Recommendations:

• Spray Equipment: Use pumps with ratios of 15:1 or greater for efficient application.
• Nozzle Tip: Tungsten carbide nozzles with a .019″ to .023″ tip orifice size are recommended.
• Hose Size: High-pressure fluid hoses should be at least 3/8 in. in diameter.
• Spray Distance: Low-ratio pumps (15-30:1) can operate through up to 150 ft. of hose, while high-ratio pumps (>30:1) can operate through up to 250 ft. of hose.
