Tectyl 823EM is a high-performance preservative engine oil, lubricant, and corrosion inhibitor manufactured by Daubert Chemical Company. This specialized product is officially approved under General Motors’ Electromotive Division (EMD) Approval Number 130-OI-26, ensuring it meets the highest standards for performance, reliability, and safety in EMD engines. Designed specifically for internal combustion engines, Tectyl 823EM forms an oily, translucent protective film that provides exceptional protection against corrosion and wear for metallic engine parts and assemblies during long-term covered shipment or indoor storage, while also functioning as a superior lubricant for moving metal components.

Application Guidelines

  • Complete draining of the crankcase and oil sumps is recommended before treatment
  • Can be applied by spray, circulation, or dip

  • When preparing used engines for storage, oil dilution may occur
